  • Space Situational Awareness is Space Battle Management

    Space Situational Awareness, or SSA, has long been synonymous with catalog maintenance. Today, space is more congested and contested than ever before, and threats against U.S. capabilities grow every day. While catalog maintenance is a part of the SSA mission set, SSA enables the continuous preparation of the battlespace in order to fight and win a war in space. Simply put, SSA is Space Battle Management. Like the air domain, there is a daily mission of air traffic control and a wartime mission of Air Battle Management. To ensure effective SSA, sensors need access to intelligence, flexible tasking, rapid decision making, and integration between platforms.
  • Space operator receives Airman's Medal

    First Lieutenant Dominic Vicino was awarded the Airman's Medal, the Air Force's highest noncombat award. He distinguished himself by risking his life to save three people at Miramar Beach March 31, 2017.
  • Space squadron hosts community leader breakfast

    The 20th Space Control Squadron hosted the Walton County Chamber of Commerce's monthly breakfast to combine networking and provide insight into space operations with a presentation and a tour of the facility.
