Base-provided custodial services change

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Due to budget cuts, the 21st Space Wing has reduced custodial services base-wide at Peterson. How will this affect your department and what changes can you expect?

On April 16, custodial services at Peterson were modified to a "basic" level of service. This change affects how often certain services are performed, including sweeping and mopping hard floors, vacuuming carpets and mats and trash removal.

The new basic level of service for facilities at Peterson includes sweeping, mopping and trash removal once a week, a reduction from the former twice a week service. The vacuuming of carpets and mats will now be done once every two weeks.

Restroom cleaning services are not affected by these reductions and will remain at the previously established frequencies for each facility receiving service.

Additionally, in accordance with Air Force standards, the child development centers, youth center and fitness center are exempt from these reductions. Each of these facilities pay for their own custodial services and service will continue at current levels.
