MAUI, Hawaii – Col. David Miller Jr., 21st Operations Group commander, passes the 21st Operations Group, Detachment 3 guidon to Capt. Robert Copely during the Det. 3 change of command ceremony here June 16. Copely assumed command from Capt. Shahn Rashid. Det. 3 is one of three worldwide Ground-based Electro-Optical Deep Space Surveillance Systems units around the globe that track and identify deep space objects using a series of powerful telescopes, providing space situational awareness to the United States and allies.
