During his visit with the 21st CES, Whiting recognized members of the team for their response to mitigating infrastructure damage due to cold weather and dedicated snow removal.

The 21 CES team’s quick action in identifying and repairing the damaged pipe mitigated $20,000 in damage to government property and prevented the loss of an estimated 156,000 gallons of water per day saving the installation around $30,000 per month in utility expenses.

The backhoe is one of the most vital pieces of equipment in the ‘Dirt Boy's’ inventory and is used for exposing water, fuel, electrical, gas and communication lines.
