16th SPCS receives Pecqueur Award

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Lt. Cols. Roger Sherman (left), 16th Space Control Squadron commander, and Bob Claude (right), 380th SPCS commander, accept the Chief Master Sergeant Robert G.V. Pecqueur Award Sept. 21 from Lt. Gen. Michael Basla (center), Air Force Space Command vice commander. The award recognizes the best space control squadron in Air Force Space Command. Airmen from the two squadrons deployed for a total of 3,285 days in direct support of Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, and New Dawn, providing critical defensive space control ability to U.S. Central Command, and protected more than 300 high priority satellite communications links and thousands of remotely piloted aircraft missions from interference, directly impacting combat operations in the theater.
