Commander to host community town hall

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- The 21st Space Wing supports about 10,500 active duty military members and civilians, more than 17,000 retirees, and thousands of family members. It's a big commitment to ensure the needs of all these people are met.

To address any questions or concerns users may have about life on Peterson AFB, Col. Chris Crawford, 21st SW commander, invites everyone to a town hall at 3 p.m. Oct. 17 in The Club ballroom.

Attendees will have the opportunity to share their concerns with a panel of key wing leadership, including the medical group, mission support group, force support squadron, security forces, civil engineering, base housing and more.

According to Al Strait, 21st SW plans and programs chief, this is an opportunity for individuals to come and have one-on-one conversations with those who know the ins and outs of the base.

"These are the people who can make decisions and have their fingers on the pulse of the wing," he said. "Col. Crawford is serious about hearing what people have to say."

During his 15 months as wing commander, Crawford has made well known he wants Peterson to be the best place to work, live and visit in the Air Force. This is an opportunity for those who may have concerns to address them directly to the people who can make change happen.

"Peterson Air Force Base and Colorado Springs is a great place to live, but like any place, we have areas where we can improve. I ask all of you, from the youngest Airman in the dorm, to the spouse concerned about child care, to the retiree shopping at the commissary, bring me your concerns so we can take the steps to make life here better," Crawford said.

Anyone is welcome and encouraged to attend the town hall.
